The
year was 2002 and I was a little child that knew no rules of life. I was like
every other normal child. I was admitted to a school named “Children’s
Garden”.
And after that I used to read in “Dhaka
Laboratory School”. I got no memory
left in me of that period. After that my mother took a great decision for me.
Indeed it was he great decision. She wanted me to get admitted in a great
school of Dhaka called “GovernmentLaboratory High School”. It is the place
where I was born again and learned every step of my life. I remember those days
when me and my oldest friend Zeba went to a coaching for getting admitted into
that school. When I went to that coaching a simple thing always terrified me.
It was the dogs who looked ferocious all the fuckin' time. They always looked
at me in a way that seemed I had taken away their meals from their hungry
mouth. It took me almost an adventure to get pass over them. But more or less
the fear of dogs has long gone from me.
It
was 11th January 2004.
I
remembered me walking through the main gate of our school in a cold winter morning. My mother always stayed
beside me and I used to hold her hand tight. That’s
made me feel secure then. We heard gravel crunched beneath our feet as we
walked in silence for a few steps. Then my mother asked me, “Are
you afraid?” I didn’t
know what to say. But suddenly I answered her that I was afraid then. And she
told me. “Don’t
be afraid my son, look there’s a lot of children
there with you. They’re gonna be your
friends some days”. Then I nodded and
after a moment I told her to come with me. Her answer came almost too quickly. “I’d
love to but I can’t”.
After sometimes my old friend Zeba showed up and we talked for a while. We went
to the field of Lab and fit ourselves in the line. After a hard and tough entry
to the main building a teacher took us to a room and gave us question paper. I
remembered me answering the entire question comfortably except one. The
question was, “What is the paint of
blood?” I
was confused. I didn’t know then that
point and color were similar words so I gave the wrong answer. But I did a
fantastic job. When I got out of the hall I saw chaos all around me. People
were shouting unconditionally I feel frenzied then. When I came forward, a
military man lifts me high enough to highlight me so that my mom could see me
from the chaos. I saw my mom smiling at me and asked, “Did
you made all the answers right?” I nodded and keep
silent. Then we quickly separated from the chaos and waited for Zeba. After a short time he came out and we decided
to spend some time here beneath the open sky. We are very pleased to see the
whole big school campus and a huge field. My mom bought us two little bottles
of shark and Kitkat. We rested our bodies in the middle of the field and looked
up high in the sky. The sky looked huge and heavy. I remembered Zeba, asking
his mother, “Could we play in
this field everyday?”
It
was 16th January, when our admission test result came out. Some mean
people used to make feel uncomfortable by taking with me menacingly. But I got
a chance to study in the best school of Bangladesh, Government Laboratory High
School. It is more like a dreamland to me. It was the best of the best. It was
a blessing from the lord to me to study in this school. For a moment I was lost
In my thoughts. It was indeed the first success of my life.
January
22, My wonderful journey started from the classroom of class one. After that
days passed, months passed and years passed. And I’m
also growing up by the passage of time. In my collection, I got much success,
many disappointment and so many lessons about my life. This school taught me
everything, started from my walking style to talk. In 2012 I’ve
met the most peculiar person in the world. He was our class teacher, named
Halim Sir. Then I was promoted to class 10. It was a year of change. But I can
recall some memories of my favorite teachers and my dearest buddies.
